Student Check-in

Now it is time to get ready for our students to check-in to our activities. One thing you might consider is using Self Check-in mode for your students. This provides a way for your students to feel a little more independent and less resistant to the process. In this topic, you will learn how to provide your students with bar codes to use with Self Check-in and how to start Check-in for the student activities.

Note: To locate the download link for Check-in, click the Help button and select Customer Support Portal. Then, log in and search the articles using the key word "check-in".

Self Check-in

Running Check-in in Self mode provides a quick way for your students to check-in to their appropriate activity. The requirement for this type of Check-in is to assign each individual a bar code number. The bar code will be used to Check-in quickly for future activities. See Chapter 5: Self Check-in in the Fellowship One Check-in guide for complete directions on how to run Check-in in Self mode.

Assisted Check-in

The first time you use Check-in, you will need to run it in Assisted mode. This means that a volunteer is needed to man the kiosk and place students into the correct room/location. The other thing that can be done the first time you run Check-in is to assign bar code numbers to all your students. See Chapter 4: Assisted Check-in in the Fellowship One Check-in guide for complete directions.

Activity Code

Regardless of the method of Check-in you want to use, you will need the activity or Super Check-in code to start Check-in. Depending upon the meeting times for the High School and Middle School activities, you might use a Super Check-in, which will allow both sets of students to check-in at the same kiosk during the same time periods. If the two activities do not happen on the same day, you can just use the activity code. Both procedures are listed below.

To locate a Super Check-in code:

  1. Click Ministry > Check-in > Super Check-ins. Make sure your student ministry is displayed in the ministry bar at the top of the page. The Add/Edit Super Checkin form appears.
  2. Locate the 4-digit code in the Check-in Code column.
  3. Record the code and make it known to all of your Check-in volunteers.

To locate an activity code:

  1. Click Ministry > Activity/Room Setup > Activities. Make sure your student ministry is displayed in the ministry bar at the top of the page. The Add/Edit Activity form appears.
  2. Scroll down to the activity grid at the bottom of the form to see your previously entered activities.
  3. Locate the 4-digit code in the Code column.
  4. Record the code and make it known to all of your Check-in volunteers.
